THIS IS AN UNUSUAL CIVIL WAR RELIC FLATTENED LEAD COUNTERFEIT COIN MOLD THAT WAS RECOVERED FROM THE BATTLE OF SEVEN PINES ALSO KNOWN AS THE BATTLE OF FAIR OAKS STATION. THE BATTLE TOOK PLACE ON MAY 31ST AND JUNE 1ST 1862 IN HENRICO COUNTY VIRGINIA AS PART OF THE PENINSULA CAMPAIGN OF THE CIVIL WAR. THE COUNTERFEIT MOLD IS FLATTENED MOST LIKELY FROM BEING STOMPLED ON BY MULES OR THE CAVALRY HORSES. THE CONFEDERATE RESOURCES WERE LIMITED DURING THE WAR AND THEY WOULD MAKE COUNTERFEIT COINS TO HOLD THEM OVER UNTIL THEY RETURNED HOME WHEN AFTER THE WAR. I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING FOR OVER 3O YEARS AND THIS IS THE ONLY ONE I’VE HAD A CHANCE TO OWN. COMES IN CASE FOR DISPLAY.
